Sanskrit is the oldest language that we know, understand and use. As per some studies it is assumed that The Sanskrit belongs to “Indo-European family of language”. It is also consider as the “Indo-Aryan Language”. As per the available evidences Sanskrit is considered to be originated around 1700-1200 BCE. Earlier it was known as Vedic Sanskrit.
In India most of the holy books are written in Sanskrit. Most of the Indian and some of the foreign languages are also originated from Sanskrit language. All hindu granthas and vedas are written in Sanskrit only. It was preserved orally in the form of Vedic Chanting Tradition.
At around 500 BCE, The Panini Setup some grammar rules for Vedic Sanskrit and help to standardize the Sanskrit language. During vedic period, vedic Sanskrit was widely used for day to day communication and even in academics. In India Sanskrit is still the part of academic syllabus, and at some places it is mandatory subject. We still perform the rituals in Vedic Sanskrit only. It is still widely used by Hindus, Buddhist and Jain people. In Indian culture Sanskrit is very vital because most of the religious literatures are in Sanskrit, and even most of the languages are derived or highly influenced by it.

Different Popular Literature’s in Sanskrit:
- All Vedas (Sama, Yajur, Atharva, Rig)
- Mahabharta
- Ramayana
- Bhagwad Gita
In recent days people started losing interest in Sanskrit which is not good. Government, Universities and NGO’s are working hard to preserve this language. We have Central University of Sanskrit which provide education in Sanskrit language. NGO’s are also working had and keep organizing different cultural programs to bring Sanskrit into focus again. Frankly speaking I also don’t have depth knowledge of Sanskrit but I have observed that unknowingly also we use few of the words from Sanskrit. When I observed same thing in my day to day communication, I got to know the beauty of this language like, if I want to call my brother I can use ‘Bhrata’.
I think we should start finding out these things in our communication and if possible we should use few of them. I believe that, if we take a small step towards it than we can definitely bring the change. Even single word in a week towards Sanskrit will help to build the foundation of change.

Let’s be the warrior of change…
